Professor Adedeji Oyenuga is a Professor in the Department of Sociology, at Lagos State University. He holds a B.Sc. degree from the same University, where he graduated as a top student and M.Sc. and PhD degrees from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. His research interests are in Criminology, Social Problems, Deviant Behaviour and Critical Cybernetics. His PhD work was on Cybercrime Subculture in Lagos State and was funded by both the Lagos State Scholarship Board and the Council for the Development of Social Research in Africa.
He has contributed articles to textbooks and published in learned journals both locally and internationally in both Sociology and his areas of expertise. He is the Lead Author of “Security Education”. A book is written for Basic One to Nine in the Nigerian Educational System. He is vast in Socio-Economic Impact Assessment (SIA) reports, Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) Reports, Technical Report, qualitative and quantitative analysis with the use of the software.
He is a member of Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Practitioners Association (NASA), International Sociological Association (ISA), International Criminological Association, and Council for the Development of Social Research in Africa (CODESRIA) among other associations.
He is a Core Learning Partner on Education for Justice {e4j) an initiative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and he is also Education for Justice (e4j) Ambassador for UNODC from 2018 till date. He has also featured in the documentary by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and Bloomberg Magazine in 2021. He was a Laureate of CODESRIA in both 2007 and 2015.
