In accordance with Schedule I, Section 4(1) of the Lagos State University Law, 2004, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) assists the Vice-Chancellor in the performance of his functions. In this case, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for all academic matters and performs such other functions as the Vice-Chancellor or the Council shall from time to time, assign to him/her.


Prof. Elias Olukorede Wahab is a native of Ikorodu town, Lagos State, Nigeria. He attended Anwar ul islam model college Agege, Lagos State. Professor Elias is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Lagos State University, Nigeria. He completed his Ph.D in April, 2005 in the Department of Sociology, University of Ibadan with specialization in Demography and population studies with support from FORD Foundation. He later had his LL.B Degree in Law from the Faculty of Law, LASU in 2007, where he was also the top of his class.

Research wise, Professor Elias area of research is Demography of Ageing. He has published widely in both national and international journals. He is the third LASU alumnus to present his Inauguaral Lecture in 2017.
