Born in the Epe Division of Lagos State on 14th May, 1971, Amuni, Mohammed Olayinka began his educational sojourn at Farombi Primary School, Isolo, Lagos from 1976-1982 before proceeding to Holy Saviour’s College, Isolo, Lagos between 1982 and 1987 for his Secondary Education.

In 1992, he graduated from Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabajo University) Ago – Iwoye with a Degree in Biochemistry. Between 1996 and 1998, Amuni had his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) at the Lagos State University, specializing in Marketing Management.

His insatiable quest for knowledge led him to enrolling for another first Degree at the Faculty of Law in the Lagos State University between 1999 and by 2006, where he graduated with an LL.B (Hons), Second Class Upper Division. Between 2008 and 2009, he was called to Bar at the Nigerian Law School, Bwari Abuja. He obtained his Masters in Law in 2016 at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos.

Amuni’s career as a seasoned University administrator kicked-off in February 1994, when he joined the services of Lagos State University as an Administrative Officer II in the Vice Chancellor’s Office. His ascension in the career ladder saw him traversed different Faculties, Directorates, Centres and Offices including Faculties of Arts, Science, Admissions, Council Matters, Non Academic Staff Establishment, Works and Physical Planning and Academic Staff Establishment of the University gathering the needed experience and exposure preparatory for the number one administrative position of the University.

Olayinka Amuni is a member of many Professional bodies, including the Association of Nigeria University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), Association of University Administrators United Kingdom (AUA UK), American Association of University Administrators (AAUA) and Nigerian Bar Association.

He has attended many local and International trainings and workshops.

Olayinka Amuni is happily married and blessed with children. He is the 7th Registrar of Lagos State University.
