Professor Oke is a consultant cardiologist with specialist training in Israel, Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College, Associate Member of the West African College of Physicians and an alumnus of the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos as well as a recipient, in 1982, of the Best Resident Award in the Department of Medicine, University of Lagos.
He is an examiner of the National and West African Post-graduate Medical Colleges and has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and supervised 7 postgraduate dissertations. He has served both as a member and chairperson of over 16 Committees in academia, health services and industry. Professor Oke provides specialist consultancy to several corporate healthcare organizations.
Unarguably, Professor Oke is a focused, action-oriented and results-driven leader who has raised the bar of healthcare delivery in the State through his expertise, wealth of experience, vitality and determination which has put Lagos State on the global health map. He was able to develop a positive attitude among workers and made LASUTH the hub of qualitative healthcare delivery in Nigeria. As it stands today, LASUTH can boast of first class infrastructure as well as the provision of first class services in terms of healthcare for Lagosians and Nigerian as a whole.
