Description: INTRODUCTIONTeaching and learning processes are very crucial for every individual at all levels for their social and educational development. If instruction is well planned and delivered, they are the keys to success and progress of every individual. Therefore, best methods should be adoptedin order to enhance effective teaching and learning and achieve maximum learning objectives.Commerce is one of the compulsory subjects that every commercial student must offer from S.S.S. 1-3 and have minimum of credit point before he or she could be admitted.The content in the Commerce syllabus incorporates the acquisition of both academic and practical skills that may help the students to become self employed after completing Senior Secondary School.Commerce has been discussed as a social science discipline and one of the vocational subjects which ought to be taught and passed in all post primary schools in Nigeria as stated by the National Policy on Education.The problems in teaching Commerce like any other subject can be attributed to the insufficient time allocated to teach this subject and improper use of materials, media, strategies and Technology.This study will point out the relevance of technology in enhancing positive attitude among students towards commerce.The population for this study will include four senior secondary school students in Oshodi Isolo Local Government Areas of Lagos State. A total number of 200 students drawn as sample.An Achievement test will be used as an instrument in collecting relevant data and will be analysed using Statistical Package for SocialSciences.

Effects of Web-based Instructional Applicantion on Lagos State Senior Secondary School Students of Academic Achievement in and Attitudes towards Commerce.

Research Details

Web-based learning is covered under a larger term of technology-based learning through websites, learning portals, video conferencing, YouTube, mobile apps, and thousand types of free available websites for blended learning tools. In the Nigerian educational system, commerce is one of the compulsory subjects for all senior secondary commercial students, comprising trade, aids to trade, occupation, etc. which equips them with the necessary skills required to earn a living and be of great asset to the economy at large.  Commerce is an applied or vocational subject tailored towards enhancing the learner’s capacity and ability for employment in the different sectors of the economy, both formal and informal. This is why there is a need for innovation in teaching and learning of Commerce. The objectives of this study are to: 
1. determine the effects of web-based instructional applications on senior secondary school students’ academic achievement in commerce.
2. examine the effectiveness of Instructional Web-based Applications on senior secondary school students' attitude towards learning of commerce. 
It adopts a mixed-method which involves the use of the quantitative and qualitative approaches. Convenience sampling techniques was used to select education district, schools were selected purposively while four intact classes were used to select respondents. Using a web-based instructional application will positively impact the academic achievement of senior secondary school students in Lagos State, particularly in the subject of commerce. Additionally, their attitude towards commerce will improve as a result of using web-based instructional applications. By examining the effects of different features of web-based applications on student achievement and attitude, this research work will provide valuable insights for the design and development of more effective web-based learning resources for commerce education.
