TIJANI Jamiu Olakunle (PhD) holds an Ordinary National Diploma (Distinction) from Lagos State Polytechnic; Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting (First Class Honours) from Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos, Master of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos and a Doctoral degree in Accounting from the Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos, Nigeria.
At the end of his undergraduate programme, he emerged as the best graduating student in the Department of Accounting and the Faculty of Management Sciences and Second Overall Best in the entire university.
Professionally, he had had a very rewarding stint with KPMG Professional Services where he worked as an Experienced Analyst in the Financial Services Industry Unit of the Audit Division. At KPMG, he distinguished himself as a committed, assiduous, diligent, highly professionally-inclined and goal-getting staffer with an “Exceptional Performer Awards”, amongst other accolades. While at the training school of the Firm, he also bagged two awards, one as an “Overall Best Participant” and the other as “Master Encyclopedia”.
Tijani Jamiu Olakunle (PhD) bagged the undergraduate scholarships awarded by the management of Lagos State University for two consecutive academic sessions and was decorated as a “University Scholar” during these periods.
He masterly teaches Financial Reporting & Ethics, Audit and Assurance, (Advanced) Financial Accounting, Insurance Accounting at the undergraduate level, while his research interests are along the lines of Financial Reporting Quality, Earnings Management, Earnings Quality, Audit and Assurance, Accounting Engineering, Capital Markets, Financial Intelligence & Governance and Corporate Governance.
He has published in reputable local and international journal outlets, articles which are enjoying wide readerships.
