Biography

Soyebo, Yusuf Aina was born on the 13th of January 1983 at Ikorodu in Lagos, Nigeria. He had his Elementary and Secondary education at Anglican Primary School and Oriwu College Ikorodu respectively between 1988 and 1999. He had his Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Degree in Banking and Finance (Distinction) in 2004 from the Lagos State Polytechnics Ikorodu and his Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance (First Class) in 2010 from the Lagos State University, Ojo. He proceeded to the University of Lagos, Akoka, and in 2015, he completed a Master of Science degree in Finance. His desire for knowledge and intellectual challenges took him further as he enrolled for his Ph.D. at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, and earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Finance in 2018.
In terms of scholarship and Academic Output, Soyebo is prolific, promising, and conversant with the latest paradigms in the field of finance. His publications on the critical issues and contemporary dynamics of finance are also very sharp and have added appreciable value to the body of knowledge in the field. He was adjudged as the Best Student in Financial Economics and the Overall Best Student (Intermediate) in the 2009 Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) Examination, an Institute that he is an Associate since 2010.
After an initial short banking career at the Ikorodu Community Bank (Ikorodu Microfinance Bank) and Indo-Merchant Bank (now a member of Sterling Bank Plc) from 2004 to 2005. He joined the service of Lagos State University in 2011 as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Banking & Finance and he is currently a Lecturer I in the Department. His area of research interest includes Financial Intermediation, Sustainable Finance, Quantitative and Consumer Finance.
