School Facilities, Teachers' Quality and Pupils Academic Performance in Public Primary Schools, Oyo Central Senatorial Districts, Oyo State, Nigeria
This study examined educational facilities, teachers’ quality, and pupils’ academic performance in public primary schools in Oyo Central Senatorial District of Oyo State, Nigeria. Seven research questions and seven null hypotheses guided this study with the adoption of a descriptive and correlational design. The population of the study includes all public primary schools in the Oyo Central Senatorial District of Oyo State. Convenient sampling techniques were used in selecting 11 public primary schools, 110 teachers, and 440 national common entrance results from the schools. Data were collected through a self-structured questionnaire for teachers’ quality (TQQ), a checklist for educational facilities (EFC), and a self-structured (SPF) proforma for national common entrance results for the year 2022. The instruments were validated using face and content validity and were found to be reliable through the split-half technique at 0.70. The data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics of percentages, tables, charts, mean, and figures, and inferential statistics using t-test, Simple Linear Regression, and multiple regression analysis. The hypotheses formulated were tested at a 0.05 level of significance. However,550 retrieved instruments were used for the analysis. The study concludes that both educational facilities and teachers' quality are integral components in shaping the academic performance of pupils in public primary schools within Oyo Central Senatorial District
