Topic: Assessment Of Physical Growth And Sexual Maturation Amongst Nigerian Males
Description: This is aimed at identifying the various factors that influence the process of physical growth and sexual maturation among Nigerian males which will serve as data base as there is dearth of data in this regard , monitor the process and it can also be used for predictive purposes in growth monitoring.

MISMATCH BETWEEN SCHOOL FURNITURE DIMENSIONS AND ANTHROPOMTRIC VARIABLES OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN LAGOS STATE
The
interconnection of ergonomic principles with safety, health, and performance is
widely acknowledged, prompting various organizations, including educational
institutions, to allocate resources to enhance safety and health in educational
settings. This
study investigated the mismatch between classroom furniture dimensions and
anthropometric variables of secondary school students in Lagos State, Nigeria,
and its implications for musculoskeletal health. Students were recruited
through multistage sampling from public and private secondary schools across
three educational districts. Anthropometric measurements (including popliteal
height, buttock-popliteal length, sitting elbow height, sitting shoulder
height, hip breadth, thigh thickness, stature, weight, and skinfolds) were
taken using standardized ISAK protocols, while furniture dimensions (seat
height, seat depth, seat width, backrest height, seat-desk height, and
clearance) were measured with calibrated tapes. Somatotype components were
determined using the Heath-Carter method, and musculoskeletal pain was assessed
via the Numeric Rating Pain Scale.
Results will possibly revealed a
high mismatch between furniture dimension and anthropometry variables, and musculoskeletal
pain. The research will reveal the urgent need for national ergonomic standards
in Nigerian schools and provides evidence-based recommendations to reduce
musculoskeletal disorders, improve postural health, and enhance learning
environments. The outcomes contribute to the achievement of United Nations
Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and 4 (Quality
Education).
