INTRODUCTION

Education in general, particularly tertiary education in every society is known to be an indispensable tool for a nations economic growth and development. However, public funds are those funds meant for public use, it involves revenue generation of government that includes borrowing, lending, taxing etc as well as the expenditures involved in staff salaries, school plant facilities and maintenance of educational institutions. 

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM

The crises facing the public sector in many countries ans such fashionable conceptions as reengineering and downsizing are bringing about fundamental changes in financing structures and productivity decline in institutions of higher education.

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY

The main purpose of the study is to examine the effect of government expenditure on the productivity of the education sector

METHODOLOGY:

The methodology involve the use of both primary and secondary data
