Corporate Governance
This study examines the essence of corporate governance that will guide the operations of incorporated companies, especially public companies as it relates to directors, shareholders and other stakeholders in the company. The research also aims at exploring how it can be extended to government organizations with a view to ensuring good governance. Although it is a moral code, it is gradually being accepted by various institutions to guide them in their day to day functions regarding their organizations. The study also examines the various corporate governance code as it affects financial institutions like banks, insurance companies, capital market organizations and the likes and how government is responding to its effective implementation so as to in the final analysis prevent corporate scandal and collapse of institutions that affect the citizens with a view to ensuring positive and steady economic growth. The Cadbury committee, the Atedo-Peterside committee and the Securities and Exchange Commission Committee are examined.
