Research Interest

Topic: Other Adult Mental Disorders

Description: In this area of specialty, I have focused on the interface between other medical specialties and psychiatry in a hospital setting to add to scarce sub-Saharan literature the importance of mental health as it relates to (a) chronic medical illnesses such as epilepsy, chronic heart diseases, HIV, diabetes, (b) lung cancers, (c) gynecological and obstetric practices, and (d) emergency medicineIn another area, adult addiction, I have 7 journal articles. I used various credible methods including policy reviews, non-randomized and randomized intervention designs to highlight magnitude of substance problems, and impact of evidence-based treatments on substance use problems.
