Topic: The Role Of Alternative Dispute Resolution In Dispute Resolution In Nigeria

Description: It is a notorious fact that dispute resolution in Nigeria is affected by protraction which is a disincentive to disputants resolving disputes through the traditional mechanism which is the court system. This has also worked against economic growth and development as it discourages local and foreign investment. Disputants has often resorted to self help and diabolism to settle disagreements. Globally, dispute resolution is mainly through Alternative Dispute Resolution which are mainly arbitration, mediation, conciliation etc. The legal regime for dispute resolution in Nigeria is mainly through the court system. This research is basically to see how our legal regime can be changed to be largely ADR driven in resolving specific types of disputes.
