Description: My research activities revolve around the image of the librarian; library patronage; development of the library; the importance of the library in the human society and job effectiveness of librarians. My research efforts have produced thirty-four nationally and internationally published works with some presentation at local and international conferences and workshops. The contributions of my studies include the following:-Sensitizing librarians about the way they are perceived by library users.-The importance of libraries to education.-Documentation of the role of librarianship in nation building.-Promoting good reading culture in schools as well as providing solutions to reading problems among library users.-Creating awareness about library services to the less privileged segment of the society.-Library Services to the Physically Challenged-Effectiveness of librarians-Change management in Libraries-The importance of ICT in Librarianship.

Current Research

Influence of Information Communication Technology ICT and School Environment on Academic Performance of Students

Research Details

This research work is focused on the influence of information communication technology ICT and school environment on academic performance of students. The research design was survey design. The population for the study were the public secondary schools students in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State. 150 students were randomly selected from six 6 public secondary schools. The data collected were analysed using tables and simple percentage. The research instrument of the study was a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire was validated using face and content validity. In order to obtain the reliability of the instrument, the test-retest method was used. Two hypotheses were formulated and tested; there is significants relationship between school environment and students academic performance and there is significant relationship between information communication technology ICT and students academic performance. It is expected that there will be significant relationship between: school environment and students academic performance; home environment and the students academic performance; community and academic performance of students and information communication technology ICT and academic performance of secondary school students. The study will provide information to school managers, government, community leaders and students on some factors that can help academic performance.
