To this end, the objectives of the study would be to:1. Examine the relationship between primary school leaders and parental engagement in Lagos State Primary Schools.2. Determine, if there is any difference in primary school leaders, parental engagement and pupils academic performance in Lagos State Primary Schools.METHODOLOGYThe study will adopt descriptive research and correlation design to investigate the Impact of School Leadership and Parental Engagement on Pupils Academic Performance in Lagos State Primary Schools. The target population for the study will be all teachers and students from Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State, Nigeria.

Principals Managerial Competence, Parental Influence and Students engagement in Lagos State Senior Secondary Schools

INTRODUCTIONSecondary education is regarded as the most important stage in the educational cycle because it is the foundation for further education, training and world of work. it is expected that everybody within the secondary schools including the principals, teachers, and parents play active role in engaging secondary school students through teaching, learning and guidiance.Engagement is not cohersing students into performing tasks we want them to do, but getting them involved in a genuine disposition for self dedicated, deep learning process foster from an early age and continues for life.AIMS AND OBJECTIVESThe major purpose of the study was to find out the relationship between principals managerial competence, parental influence and students engagements in Lagos State Senior Secondary Schools.The objectives of the study were to:1. Examine the relationship between parental influence and managerial competence of public and private senior secondary school principals in Lagos State, Nigeria.2. To determine relationship between parental influence and student engagement in public and private senior secondary schools in Lagos State, Nigeria.METHODOLOGYThe study adopted descriptive design and correlation design to investigate principals managerial competence, parental influence and student engagement in public and private senior secondary schools in Lagos State, Nigeria. The participants for the study involved teachers and students from district 1 to district 6. simple random sampling technique was used in selecting the participants. There were 15 participant from each school public and private , that is, 5 teachers and 10 students respectively. making a total of 1260 participants.Two separate questionnaires were developed for students and teachers respectively, descriptive statistics was used to analysed the data collected through the Statistical Package for Social Science SPSS . Analysis of the data was conducted using Chi-Square and Pearson Products Moment Correlation Coefficient.
