Perceived organisational justice as determinant of sustainable industrial peace in public tertiary institutions in Lagos State
The study examined the relationship between organisational justice (Distributive, Informational, Procedural and Interactional Justice) and sustainable industrial peace using some selected public tertiary institutions in Lagos State as point of reference. Descriptive surve research was adopted and a sample of of 253 was selected with the use of multi stage sampling techniques. Hypotheses formulated was tested at 0,05 level of significance with the use of multiple regression as a method of data analysis. The findings showed that the four components of organisational justice jointly predicted the criterion variable (industrial peace). Also each of four independent variables separately predicted the dependent variable. Procedural justice was found to be the most potent predictor. Based on the findings, it was recommended among other things that management of the various public tertiary institutions should endeavour to make their organisational procedures and guidelines transparent and decisions taken be fair to all. Also, for implementing distributive justice, management is advised to use a good performance evaluation system which is derived from an appropriate job description.
