Topic: NON-VASCULAR ULTRASOUND INTERVENTION

Description: My latest research projects have a bias for ultrasound imaging. This is due to easy availability, cheap and portability of this Imaging modality as opposed to the hi-tech ones which are not readily available and for want of maintenance when they break down. Ultrasound has provided a ready replacement for some of the procedures done with the hi-tech ones.With the use of ultrasound imaging, it has allowed me to start ultrasound intervention in LASUCOM. It has also made me one of the few radiologist in Lagos with the skill of draining abscesses and taking biopsy specimens under ultrasound guidance. This has also allowed me to introduce catheter drainage into the kidneys to help patients with obstructive uropathy.I have also moved into the hallowed area of biliary drainage in patients with biliary obstruction as well as do percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography under ultrasound guide.
