Video Films Depictions of Electoral Violence: As Enter-Education (Edutainment)
As content analysis of 30 purposely selected political video films between 2010 and 2018 revealing the realities and imageries of the political processes in Nigeria. Purposive Sampling with political setting/ processes constitute unit of analysis while framing and media violence theories constitute theoretical framework of the study. A part of World Press Freedom Day celebration study showing the liberty of film makers to choose theme for exploration while showing the concomitant responsibility obligation of the media of film to reward or punish societal evil as electoral violence manifestation as thuggery, ballot snatching/stuffing, political motivated assassination, arson, gun importation, gun wielding, electoral result manipulation , party intrigues for party candidate emergence among others.The study has promise for vicariously slanting of electoral violence as a societal evil that must be vehemently condemned while respecting the wish of the electorate. the implication of this study is framing electoral violence as undemocratic , evil and negative tendency with grievous outcome, while promoting free and fair democratic practice as the ultimate change desired in sane and growing of societies.
