Topic: Perception Of Teachers' And Students' Pedagogy Of Mathematics In Junior Secondary Schools In Lagos State

Perception is a way people judge others with whom they are in contact.  A person's attitude to an idea or object determines what the person thinks, feels and how the person would like to behave towards the idea or object.  Teachers' and students' perception about teaching method in Mathematics has often times shaped their reality because it has been perceived by students that Mathematics is the most difficult subject in the school.  Also, some teachers have found it challenging to impact their student successfully on the subject of Mathematics. The main aim of this study is to examine the perception of teachers' and students' on problems of effective teaching and learning of Mathematics among Junior secondary school in Ikorodu, Lagos State.  Survey research design was employed, were questionnaire was the main instrument used for collecting data from various respondent.  Simple random sampling techniques were used in this study.  The total sample size for teachers is thirty (30) while students is one hundred and fifty (150).  However, two (2) hypotheses were tested, findings and conclusion were based on the hypotheses tested.  All the hypotheses showed a true test.  The findings revealed that the perception of teachers and students affect teaching method of Mathematics among Junior secondary school in Ikorodu, Lagos State.  Also, the perception of teachers' and students' affect instructional material among Junior Secondary School in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
