TACKLING INSECURITY ISSUES IN NIGERIA: THE ABRAHAMIC RELIGIOS RESPONSE
Nigeria as a nation is faced with diverse and significant insecurity challenges. These include terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and communal clashes, all of which are posing great threat to her stability and socio-economic development as a nation. In response to these challenges, the Abrahamic religions practiced in Nigeria are significant stakeholder playing germane roles in addressing these issues. The research therefore examined the responses of the various religions in tackling insecurity in Nigeria, highlighting the varrious efforts of their leaders in promoting peace, providing humanitarian aid, and advocating for justice and good governance. The methods employed are majorly descriptive and historical because of its nature. The research hopefully through the prophetic voices of her religious stake holders, coupled with its vast network of resources and influence, can contribute significantly to addressing the root causes of insecurity in Nigeria. It concluded by recommending ways in which the the various Abrahamic religions can enhance its efforts in promoting peace and security in the country.
