Evaluation of Ambulatory Blood Pressure Measurement (ABPM) Related hemodynamic biomarkers On the progression of Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFPEF)
Working Hypothesis
The prognosis of patients with heart failure and preserved ejection fraction (HF-PEF), defined by the risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality (hospital readmissions, emergency room visits, functional decline and mortality), depends on multiple factors such as Frailty, comorbidities, BP values, hemodynamic parameters and the baseline functional capacity. Correct definition of these prognostic factors may help define more effective management strategies
Objectives
Primary
1. To identify hemodynamic biomarkers of blood pressure measured by ABPM with influence on the composite of hospital readmission due to HF, CV and non CV death or functional decline in patients with HF-PEF. The hemodynamic biomarkers included will be Dipping pattern, nocturnal hypertension, morning surge, differences between home and office BP (Masked Hypertension, Isolated
clinical hypertension, uncontrolled hypertension and controlled hypertension),
BP variability and its relation to outcomes, BP load and rate–pressure product.
Secondary
1. To identify hemodynamic biomarkers of BP measured by ABPM with
influence on hospital readmission in patients with HF-PEF.
2. To identify hemodynamic biomarkers of Blood pressure measured by
ABPM with influence on CV and non CV death in patients with HF-PEF.
3. To identify hemodynamic biomarkers of Blood pressure measured by
ABPM with influence on functional decline in patients with HF-PEF.
4. To identify regional differences on the characteristics of HFPEF.
5. To identify hemodynamic biomarkers of BP measured by ABPM with influence on cognitive impairment and frailty.
