Topic: The Grammar Areas Of Higher Interest Are: Syntax And Dialectology
Description: My research focuses on the grammar aspect of the Yoruba Language soon after my first degree. The grammar areas of higher interest are: Syntax, Phonology and Dialectology. I conducted various researches on the Syntax, Phonetics and Phonology of Yoruba Grammar, the interface between Language, Education and Dialectology. Precisely, I have focused on the following areas:(i) Syntax: Various types of sentence formation, that could be seen in the titles of my 2nd and 3rd degrees dissertation and thesis, respectively The examination of the internal structures of sentences as reflected in the following journal articles: Sequence and Co-occurrence of Yoruba auxilliary verbs, Wh-extraction and its landing site, the subjacency Conditions, Ihuwasi oro-atokun ninu Gbolohun Ibeere, Aspects of the phonology of Awori dialect,Negation in Awori, Ara ti Akinwumi Isola fi Koodu ati oro Ayalo da ninu O Le Ku where we examined among other things code-mixing, Code- Switching and Isola's diversified style of Borrowing, Internal Structures of selected Ena sentences,etc. (ii) Interlocks of Syntax with Yoruba language teaching, Dialectology, and other Language related areas such as Aspects of the phonology of Awori dialect, Eko-ede Yoruba ati Laabu, etc.(iii) Language Preservation which is evident in the texts for readership ranging from Primary, Secondary 2nd Language learners and Higher Institution Students.The findings have been published in books, Monographs and journals of national and international repute. Thus I have contributed tangibly by demonstrating a good balance of theory and empirical data to knowledge in the areas of core Yoruba Language-syntax and Dialectology.

A comparative analysis of Ogu and Yoruba Language dictionTitle: A comparative analysis of Ogu Language and Yoruba Language diction Objective: The proximity of Ogu Language and Yoruba language in Lagos State is suggestive of some kind of relationships. The aim of this research paper therefore is to ascertain whether there is a relationship between the 2 languages judging from their diction. The data is being collected from Ogu native speakers as L1. The respondents are aging language users whose use of diction has not been adulterated yet. Methodology: There is need to also do Library consultation to supplement whatever we discover on the field. These corpora will eventually be classified to see areas of similarities and divergence. The research work is progressing. Extent: We have started collection of data from Badagry division of Lagos State, Nigeria. We prepared a list of words to be juxtaposed and placed them in structures like Sentences
