Evaluation of entrepreneurship education in Universities in South West Nigeria, 2011 - 2015
Introduction: Education is viewed as an instrument as an instrument for acquiring the relevant knowledge and skills necessary for surviving in the society. It is therefore incumbent to give all youths the education that can be practically used to their advantage and the advantage of the nation. The possible panacea to poverty and unemployment problems that have bedeviled Nigeria could therefore be said to be entrepreneurship education. This is because an entrepreneur itself sustained and able to empower other people, therefore reducing the extent of unemployment and poverty in the nation. Statement of the Problem: The unemployment rate in Nigeria is becoming highly alarming with the university graduates still searching for government or multinational jobs instead of becoming entrepreneurs who provide jobs for themselves and other citizens. It is crucial therefore to evaluate the position of entrepreneurship education as to whether it is doing what it is supposed to do or if it has achieved the purpose of which it is set to achieved particularly in universities in South-West Nigeria. Work Done so Far: The proposal has been written, questionnaire designed and collection of data is ongoing. Work yet to Done: To complete the collection of data, analysis and write report.
