The Vice Chancellor, Professor ‘Lanre Fagbohun in his remarks urged the inductees to embrace professionalism, adding that it would make them great. “After this induction, you can always hold your head high. This is a responsibility, you must hold yourself accountable to. You must not compromise good conduct and service delivery. You should be able to mentor others”
Professor Fagbohun told the inductees that the event should not be a one-off event, but a clear turning point occasion. He said the institution would continue with the induction. Finally, he assured the Registrar of TRCN that LASU graduates are world-class. He congratulated the inductees on the historic event.
The host, Dean, Faculty of Education, Prof. Clement Fasan, in his welcome address, called on the inductees to be role models. ’’As teachers, you must be able to communicate, impart knowledge and have computer skills etc. I charge you to be great ambassadors of LASU. I congratulate you on this feat”, he ended.
The Registrar/Chief Executive, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Prof. Josiah Ajiboye, in his speech, lauded the giant strides of the University Management under the leadership of Professor Fagbohun for the rapid development in the University. He noted that teaching is the mother of all professions. He reminded the inductees that they must be properly registered as teachers with the TRCN. He allayed fear that technology would take their jobs and advised them to be computer savvy. The Registrar, TRCN, eventually inducted the inductees and equally administered the oath of admission on them.
