This is the sole reason why
the University is providing a platform for interaction among researchers, parents, students and policy makers to assess what has been done educationally in Lagos State and provide a way forward for the State of Excellence. Toward this end, the organizers hereby call for papers to be presented at the two (2) day Conference.
Theme: Education: Space, Policies, Learning Outcomes and Collective Benefits.
Theme 1: Educational Space in Lagos.
Under this sub theme, papers should address but not limited to the below list.
Types and the relevance of Schools, Demographics, Statistics, Distribution, Class and Ethnicity in Lagos.
Higher Education in Lagos State, Administration and the Supervision of Schools in Lagos State.
Theme 2: Policies on Education in Lagos State from inception 1967-till 2017
Sub-Theme Papers should address each era of governance in Lagos from inception till date in relation to educational policies and growth. The eras are:

- Alhaji Lateef Jakande
- Group Captain Gbolahan Mudashiru
- Navy Captain Mike Akhigbe
- Colonel Raji Rasaki
- Brigadier General Buba Marwa

- Mr Akinwumi Ambode
Papers should address the policies on education and their contributions to educational development in Lagos State with reference to the National Policy on Education and Lagos State Policy on Education.
Theme 3: Learning Outcomes
The sub-themes in this category include the issues of class, ethnicity, spatial differences in performance, social economic status, school learning and the school curriculum in Lagos State.
Theme 4: Learning Outcomes and Policies on Education in Lagos State
Examples are manpower, skills gap, unemployment, preparation and supply of teachers, inadequate facilities /technical support
The organisers welcome papers from all disciplines.
Submission of full paper will be accepted until Wednesday 1st March, 2017. All submissions must be original and not previously published and not in consideration for presentation or publication elsewhere. All papers must be submitted electronically by sending an e-mail to the Conference Secretariat or using the submission contact form. All papers would be peer-reviewed.
All submissions must be typed single spaced with 2.5cm or one-inch margins using 12 point Times New Roman font in a single MS word file. All submissions must include the title, actual names, affiliations; e-mails (phone numbers of all authors). Selections of papers for inclusion in the conference proceedings will be based on originality, quality and relevance in the judgment of the reviewers.
Paper should contain the following:
Paper title, name, institution/affiliation, mailing address, e-mail, phone numbers, abstract, keywords, conference topic, introduction, theory, methods, findings, discussions, conclusions and implication. Tables, figures, references, tables, figures in their proper positions in the paper (if applicable).
Brief biography of each of the author(s) of one paragraph not more than 100 words
The Secretariat will e-mail a notification of receiving the full paper to authors. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. If accepted, additional conference information will be sent to all participants.
Please bring your presentation on a USB flash drive of PC compatible DVD/CD to the conference.
Types of Sessions
Workshops are expected to be interactive sessions where researchers and stakeholders present a theme allowing ample time for discussion and interaction
